The Audit and Risk Committee Member will provide independent oversight and advice on financial reporting, auditing, risk management, internal controls, compliance, corporate governance, ICT, and performance management. The member will work with management, internal and external auditors, and the Board to promote effective governance and accountability within the MHSC.

Relevant degree and postgraduate qualification in Accounting, Auditing, IT, Legal, or Risk Management.

Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIA, ACCA, CRMA, PA(SA), CISA, or LLB.

Membership in good standing with the relevant professional body.

Minimum of 8 years' experience serving as an Audit Committee member in the public sector and/or public entities.

At least 5 years' executive management experience.

Extensive experience in accounting, financial management, auditing, risk management, corporate governance, compliance, performance management, ICT, and/or legal services.

Demonstrable knowledge of the PFMA, National Treasury Regulations, and GRAP.

Experience working with and reporting to a Board.

Knowledge and experience in the public service and public entities will be an advantage.
