Job Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for Management accounting work and reporting for the MHSC, ensuring that the revenue and research budgets are done. Levy invoices are raised on time. He/She will have to prepare and submit monthly and quarterly DMR reports, Treasury Reports, and monthly performance reports on mine levies, DMR levies and administration of fine levies. It will also be part of his/her duties to ensure that invoicing is based on accurate databases to eliminate queries and late payments. Monitor the work of the credit control office as well as monitor and report on research expenditure.

Qualification

Degree in Accounting
3 years’ articles
Knowledge of GRAP requirements and their application
Knowledge of PFMA requirements and their application
Experience

3–5 years’ accounting experience
Experience in sales and debtors
Experience in purchases and disbursements
Payroll experience
General Ledger experience
Experience in reconciliations and financial reporting
Experience dealing with auditors, revenue, debtors and budgets
Experience in staff supervision and performance management
Preferred Skills

Validate the invoicing database.
Provide accounting solutions to enquiries.
Review and supervise the processing of receipts to prevent misallocations.
Ensure direct deposits into the bank are processed.
Investigate and resolve debtor credit balances.
Perform weekly bank reconciliations.
Interact with the bank daily and handle debtor-related bank queries.
Prepare revenue budgets and rates for invoicing.
Load approved revenue budgets onto Pronum.
Report actual revenue against budget.
Liaise with auditors on revenue, debtors and budgets.
Prepare audit-file inputs and resolve audit queries.
Monitor credit-control activities.
Monitor and report on research expenditure.
Prepare monthly and quarterly DMR and Treasury reports.
Prepare monthly performance reports on mine levies, DMR levies and administration of fine levies.
Ensure work plans and action plans align with operational and project requirements.
Monitor and report progress against plans.
Allocate workloads appropriately and monitor staff deliverables and targets.
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and formal performance reviews.
Take appropriate remedial action where staff performance does not meet required standards.
Ensure appropriate staff development plans are in place.
Provide staff with the necessary resources, authority, information and development.
Ensure efficient and quality service delivery and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
